What’s fantastic about these Victorian door knockers is that they are developed to be fitted with ease by anyone (and they even come with step by step fitting instructions. The nylon bolts that secure the knocker to the door are flexible and very easy to cut to size depending on your door thickness. Aside from making the job of fitting the door hardware easily, these nylon bolts are ideal because they do not rust or condensate thus allowing your door to look as fantastic as when you first fit the door knocker!
The Victorian door knockers are available with or without a hole, depending on whether you would like a door viewer or not:

At MAX6 we are constantly striving to improve on the products we already supply as well as develop new, pioneering ranges and practical product solutions.
With an in house testing centre and product developer, each stage of the development process is thorough, from the initial design right down to the final product. In house 3D printing technology allows for further and more precise advancement of our products which are then expertly manufactured and put through stringent testing conditions using in house test equipment – ensuring all products are designed to the highest standards:
UV Sunlight Testing Machine
Used to test the colourfast of plastic and anodised products, the UV machine measures the stamina of the door knocker finish, testing how quickly it will fade in sunlight. It does this using UV lights which the products are left under for 2000 hours.
Salt Spray Testing Machine
This machine tests the corrosion resistance of the door knockers and many other products. The salt spray cabinet produces a corrosive environment, by releasing a dense saline fog into the chamber which the products are exposed to. This creates accelerated corrosion to the product and allows us to test how well the product would stand up in harsher environments.
To fit the door knocker, we have supplied fixing screws, nylon bolts, nuts and washers. You will also need a tape measure, pencil, drill, 6mm drill bit and a sharp knife:
1- After deciding where you would like the door knocker to go, use a tape measure and pencil to find the centre of the door and make a mark.
2- Measure the door knocker with your tape measure to find the distance between the bolt holes on the back of the door knocker. Transfer these measurements on to the door so you know where to make drill holes for the nylon bolts.
3- Using a 6mm drill bit, drill in a straight line through the door at the bolt marks.
4- Attach the nylon bolts to the bolt holes in the door knocker and push them through the door. If the bolts protrude too much on the opposite side of the door, you will need to trim them.
5- To trim the bolts mark them with a pencil (leaving around 7-8mm for the nuts). Use a sharp knife to cut off the excess.
6- Attach the nuts to the back of the bolts and screw them tight by hand.
MAINTENANCE
Gently wipe the door knocker with a moist line free cloth every month to remove dust particles.
